Military coups have swept the Sahel over the past 4 years whilst the Russian African Corps (previously Wagner) continues to pose an ever-rising threat to hitherto unquestioned French hegemony; meanwhile, the newly resurgent Islamic State and the dangerously potent Boko Haram faction continue to launch increasingly devastating terror attacks on innocent men, women, and children.
